Gentlemen!

Our next regular club meeting is this Saturday, August 10th. The regular meeting will be held at 7:30pm. The Board will meet at 6:45 for any last-minute Agenda items. (The Board meeting is always open to the club, btw!.)

We will be hosting a Demo Safety discussion at 5pm on this Saturday as well, and I encourage everyone to attend especially if you ever have a hand in conducting demos at our events. In our last meeting we did discuss some of the flubs that have happened. For this safety discussion, I’d like you to focus on developing a safe demo protocol that will allow all of us to always be on the same page at these events. So please consider some of the things you think are important for all of us to be aware of and that we can incorporate into our demo best practices. This discussion will lead to the creation of a written guideline that can be approved and shared out as early as our September meeting.

Following the regular meeting the club will head over to Anvil Bar for our monthly Club Night. The theme for this club night is “Commando”, a pre-party for our special event later in August called Boot Camp at Fort Anvil. This “military light” night will introduce the Boot Camp party “Mission”, which is to raise $1000 with the incentive that Tim Versluys will agree to get a buzz cut at the event when it’s held on 8/24/2024. (Money raised goes to the Mr. Anvil Phoenix travel fund.)

To boost our fund raising, we’re offering another Prize Raffle with the winner to be announced on 8/24. (Winner does not need to be present to win.) Prizes include a brand-new-in-box Lenovo Laptop (500gb SSD, 16gb RAM), A brand-new-in-box Lenovo 11′ tablet device and a $69 cash prize. We will be selling raffle tickets for $1/each, or a book of six tickets for $5. We also can offer an enhancement (in-bar only sales) of a free leather paddle for any 4 books sold (i.e., $20 gets you a free paddle) while supplies last. Everyone will get tickets to sell during the next two weeks. Don’t forget that Friends, Neighbors, Family and strangers at the supermarket all need new laptops, tablets and cash prizes too!!!!
