A HUGE Congrats for all the hard work over these last months!  We’ve surpassed two important fundraising goals as of yesterday:

The Prize Raffle for tonight’s Boot Camp at Fort Anvil party has surpassed $1000, so Tim Versluys, the manager of Anvil, will be getting an Army Buzz Cut tonight by Mr. Wayne Brawner!  This should be a real highlight!  The total so far for this event is $1033, with some more money from auctioned off buzz cuts and raffle tickets yet to come.  I’ll send out a final update tomorrow.

Equally important is that tonight’s prize raffle money goes to the Mr. Anvil Phoenix Travel Fund.  Our first goal was to send 2024’s winner to IML with $2000.  We’ve already met that goal in June and have been striving to raise the total to $4000, which we did as of yesterday. 

The title’s travel fund is structured so that the first $2000 goes to this year’s winner.  The next $2000 goes to endow the next winner who runs next April for the 2025 title.  (Anything over $4000 is given to the current title holder–Dennis Daniels–for additional funding beyond hotel, flight, fees and food.  He’ll be able to secure anything else he needs like new leatherwear, etc.).

This is a great accomplishment coming this early.  This means that when we begin advertising for the 2025 contest, we can proudly state that the winner is guaranteed a $2000 travel fund.  

The total collected so far for the Mr. Anvil Phoenix 2024 Travel Fund sits at $4,482.68.  None of this could happen without all of us pitching in and helping.  Thank you so much!  Here’s a snapshot of all the events we’ve done this year to get us to this point:
