Quick update on the Grand Raffle tickets (for the scooter and TV and Cash Prize). $365 has been collected so far!
Me and Nick went to a spring training game yesterday and setup a sign at our tailgate party. We sold random strangers $90 in tickets + got a $100 donation. So the message is that people are inspired by the story behind Mulligan’s Manor. Please consider reaching out to people you’re in contact with (work? neighbors?) and give them the soft sell, it’s all it takes!
In case you need some background to help convey what it’s for:
–“It’s a raffle for a 50cc street legal scooter, a TV and a cash prize of $100 bucks”
–“It’s for a group home in Tempe for LGBTQ kids in the foster care system”
–“It’s the only group home for LGBTQ kids in Arizona, and there’s only 3 such homes in the country”
–You can remind them the name of the charity is on the ticket stub, they can look at the site.
–Tickets are in bundles of 6 tickets for $5.
(you can break up a book, if someone only wants one ticket for one dollar)
–Winner need not be present to win.
–they only need to fill in the first stub with name and phone or email. (make sure it’s legible!!!)
–This is not “limited” to gay guys at anvil…we don’t care who wins the freakin’ scooter, we just want their money 
!!! Summons that inner kid in you who was happy to go around selling chocolate bars for the school fundraisers back in the day!!!
You can download these images to your phone, so it’s easy to show someone who seems interested. People are really, really responsive and it gives them an outlet to feel good about themselves by donating.

Selling these is a lot easier than I thought. I just started asking people in my building, telling them what it is for, the prizes and when it is happening. I sold all of mine within two days just sold two more sets of five in the past 20 minutes, just asking people in the lobby. I picked another 20 sets as the $5 for 6 deal seems to be the most popular option. This is really easy.
